Overview
Adept was founded in 2022 by former Google and OpenAI researchers to build models that operate software the way a person does, clicking through interfaces and completing multi-step workflows. It trained its own family of action models and released agent products aimed at enterprise knowledge work. In 2024 much of its founding team and a licence to its technology moved to Amazon, while the company continued to develop agent tooling.
