Overview
CIMMYT, the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, is a non-profit agricultural research organisation headquartered in Texcoco near Mexico City that breeds and studies maize, wheat and other cereals for food security. Established in 1966 and a member of the CGIAR partnership, it runs experimental stations in Mexico and regional offices in Kenya, India, Bangladesh, Senegal and other countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. It hires research associates and field assistants, program and grant managers, finance and legal staff, governance and compliance specialists, and both locally and internationally recruited scientists.
