The State of Maine is the government of the US state of Maine, with its capital and most executive-branch agencies in Augusta and field offices in Bangor, Portland, Lewiston, Rockland and other communities. Its executive branch includes the departments of Health and Human Services, Transportation, Environmental Protection, Education, and Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management, along with the Office of Information Technology.
