Overview
Schmidt Sciences is a philanthropic science organisation funding research in artificial intelligence, astrophysics, biosciences and climate. Its AI2050 programme supports fellows working on hard problems in beneficial artificial intelligence, and its safety science programme funds technical research on model risk at universities worldwide. The organisation was founded by Eric and Wendy Schmidt and funds researchers directly rather than through grant competitions alone; its fellows work at universities and independent institutes across many countries.
