Synthetix is a decentralised derivatives liquidity protocol founded in 2017 and originating in Sydney. It lets stakers back synthetic assets that track prices of currencies, commodities and digital assets without holding the underlying instrument. The protocol supplies liquidity to a set of front-end exchanges and is governed by an elected council structure.
