Worcester County Sheriff's Office

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office runs the county jail and house of correction in West Boylston, near Worcester, Massachusetts, together with civil process, inmate education, substance abuse treatment and re-entry programs. It serves the largest county in Massachusetts, with 60 towns and over 850,000 residents, and has been led by Sheriff Lew Evangelidis since 2011, also operating community justice and regional resource centres. It holds pre-trial detainees and inmates sentenced to two and a half years or less, and its inmate-run organic farm donates over 40,000 pounds of produce a year to local food pantries.
