YMCA of Greater Boston is a nonprofit community organization based in Boston that runs fitness centers, swimming and youth sports programs, early education and afterschool care, adult education and hunger relief services across the Greater Boston area. Founded in 1851 as the first YMCA in America, it operates centers including Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, Roxbury, Waltham and Oak Square, serves more than 150,000 people a year and delivered over 6 million dollars in free or subsidized programs in 2024. It hires swim and group exercise instructors, personal trainers, afterschool group leaders, early education staff, ESOL and career instructors and welcome center staff.
