Why you want this role

As a Senior Software Engineer on SeekWell's Enterprise Commerce team, you'll help build, maintain, and evolve the platforms that support multiple storefronts and lines of business across our organization. You'll work within a diverse technology environment that includes backend services, RESTful APIs, internal web applications, cloud platforms, databases, containerized workloads, and modern deployment pipelines.

Our team collectively supports more than 70 business-critical code repositories spanning customer experiences, internal applications, and enterprise platforms. You'll have opportunities to independently own projects, contribute to technical decisions, improve existing systems, and help shape the future of our commerce platforms.

This role goes beyond writing code. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, architects, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to solve meaningful challenges, improve platform capabilities, and deliver solutions that create measurable business value.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications, backend services, and RESTful APIs across multiple business platforms.
  • Build and maintain integrations with internal systems, enterprise platforms, and third-party services.
  • Independently own projects from technical design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that address business and customer needs.
  • Investigate complex technical issues, troubleshoot production applications, and participate in root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to improve application quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and decisions that influence platform capabilities.
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and developer tooling.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve system performance, and strengthen platform reliability and scalability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions and developer productivity tools, to improve engineering processes and capabilities.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and long-term technical improvements across the Enterprise Commerce team.

What you'll need

  • Significant professional software engineering experience developing, maintaining, and supporting production applications and services.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and modern development practices.
  • Experience developing applications using C#, .NET, Java, Python, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience designing, building, integrating, and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed services.
  • Strong understanding of dependency injection, automated testing, maintainable code design, and software quality practices.
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing and supporting applications in cloud environments and working with modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to independently own technical projects, make sound engineering decisions, and deliver solutions through production deployment.
  • Experience contributing to technical decisions, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving solutions forward.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of applications, systems, or services, with accountability for reliability, maintainability, and business outcomes.
  • A customer-focused mindset, strong engineering judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and incorporating constructive feedback.

Why we will love you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with Azure cloud technologies and services.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Splunk, and Python.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
  • Experience developing or supporting AI-enabled products, integrations, or workflows.
  • Experience influencing technical direction, improving engineering practices, or mentoring other engineers.
  • Ability to connect technical decisions to customer needs, business objectives, and measurable outcomes.
  • A strong sense of ownership, initiative, and enthusiasm for building reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset and passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and continuously improving.
