What you’ll do
As a Mechanical Engineer in our Mining, Resources & Industrial team based in Brisbane, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and specialists to deliver innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling, port infrastructure and industrial projects throughout Australia.
You'll contribute to projects spanning feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning, helping clients solve complex challenges and optimise critical infrastructure. You will:
- Deliver mechanical engineering designs, calculations and technical analysis across mining, resources and industrial projects.
- Prepare engineering deliverables including reports, equipment specifications, data sheets, design calculations, 3D models and construction drawings.
- Support the design and optimisation of bulk materials handling systems, including conveyors, transfer chutes, stackers, reclaimers and associated infrastructure.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and clients to develop practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
- Participate in site inspections, project scoping, commissioning activities and technical workshops.
- Contribute to studies, proposals, project estimates and business development opportunities.
- Build your technical capability through exposure to major projects, experienced mentors and industry-leading engineering practices.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and be working towards or eligible for RPEQ registration.
- Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects within the mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of bulk materials handling equipment such as conveyors, transfer chutes, hoppers, reclaimers, stackers, feeders and loading facilities.
- Experience using engineering and analysis tools such as Sidewinder, BeltAnalyst, Rocky DEM, Inventor, Fusion 360, MATLAB, Python, VBA or similar.
- Strong problem solving and engineering design capability, with an interest in developing detailed technical expertise.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and project teams.
- A proactive mindset, curiosity to learn and a passion for delivering sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
