Underwriter

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter to assess and approve unsecured loan applications. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating customer profiles, financial documents, and creditworthiness while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze verification reports and income documents

Evaluate bank statements, credit bureau reports, and overall customer profiles.

Take final credit decisions based on internal underwriting policies

Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate discrepancies

Ensure compliance with risk, audit, and regulatory standards

Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping of cases processed

Coordinate with operations, sales, and risk teams for case resolution.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

Experience: 1-2 years in unsecured loan underwriting (Personal Loans preferred)

Strong understanding of credit policies, risk assessment, and financial analysis

Ability to interpret bank statements and bureau reports (CIBIL, Experian, etc.)

Good decision-making and analytical skills

Attention to detail and ability to detect inconsistencies or fraud

Basic knowledge of compliance and regulatory norms

Preferred Skills:

Experience in NBFC/Banking domain

Strong communication and coordination skills

Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple cases
