The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Planner, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Planning and scheduling production orders and monitoring work center output to meet customer requirements and improve work center operational efficiency.
• Placing purchase orders to support production and communicate with suppliers on open orders and future requirements to support service, inventory and cost targets.
• Maintaining and optimizing production planning parameters that align with customer and business requirements for service and inventory.
• Working cross functionally to manage exceptions (materials, capacity) to determine how best to resolve constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost to meet business targets.
• Publishing and presenting service and inventory metrics and results.
• Supporting the planning for phase in/phase out through effective procurement, scheduling and communication.
• Actively managing working and non-working inventories to maintain compliance and achieve targets.
• Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects.
• May include inventory control responsibilities.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Two (2) years of combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience in material, production or supply planning
• Experience using SAP
• Experience using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills
• Experience working on cross-functional teams
• APICS certification
• Experience utilizing continuous improvement methodologies

Work location:

• Clinton, TN on-site

Travel: May include up to 10%

Relocation: May be authorized
