Associate, Structured Trade, Global Transaction Banking, Asia Pacific

Join our Structured Trade team and help deliver innovative working capital solutions to leading global corporates across commodities, industrials, and the AI and data centre value chain. The role offers exposure to some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in trade finance, including inventory finance, borrowing bases, prepayments and bespoke structured solutions supporting strategic supply chain flows into Asia.

Work closely with corporate sales and coverage team to pitch, initiate and realise business opportunities, both within Asia Pacific as well as between regions. Participate, along with the global team, in product development and designing/structuring tailor made solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the origination, structuring, execution and ongoing management of Structured Trade transactions across Asia Pacific.
• Assist in the preparation of client presentations, transaction structures, financial analysis, credit applications and profitability assessments.
• Analyse clients' working capital requirements and trade flows to support the development of tailored financing solutions.
• Coordinate with Coverage, Corporate Banking, Risk, Legal, Operations and other internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient transaction execution and portfolio management.
• Monitor transaction pipelines and existing facilities, including utilisation tracking, reviews and other portfolio management activities.
• Collaborate with regional and global Structured Trade teams on cross-border transactions and strategic business initiatives.
• Contribute to product development, process enhancements and other Global Transaction Banking initiatives as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree holder or above.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience with an international bank (within Structured Trade or Structured Commodity Finance) and/or a major law firm (within Banking & Finance).
• Familiarity and working experience with fundamental banking and finance law, regulatory and compliance concepts and the ways they impact structuring and documentation of financing transactions.
• Agile mindset and ability to innovatively apply prior legal knowledge towards overcoming challenges and helping remove bottlenecks in the legal documentation process.
• Team player, self-starter with good initiative and high motivation. Willing to work under pressure.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese. Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
• Advanced level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications.
• Detail oriented, excellent analytical and presentation skills.
