The Impact You’llMake in this Role

As aSenior Software Test Automation Engineer,you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Designing, coding, and maintainingautomated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.

• Developingand enhancingreusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.

• Appling security best practices, including encryption and secure communications, across system design and implementation.

• Troubleshooting and optimizingsoftware performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.

• Identifying, documenting, troubleshooting, and trackingsoftware defects in collaboration with development teams.

• Providingtechnical leadership on a cross-functional team and contributeto engineering best practices appropriate fora mid-senior level role.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires(at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineeringor a related technical field (completed and verified prior to start)from an accredited institution.

• Seven(7) years of software development experience including coding automated tests for server-side or backend software systemsin a private, public, government or military environment

Additionalqualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineeringor a related technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

• Experience testing APIs, services, databases, and distributed software systems.

• Havea working knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as CIP, OPC-UA, and MQTT.

• Experience with C/C++ and embedded applications.

• Understanding oflow-latency, time-critical network communications over Wi-Fi

• Ability to work effectively across a broad technology stack and to coordinate with external development resources.

• Proficiencywith AI software development tools

Work location:

• Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

• Travel: May include up to 10% domesticor international

• Relocation: May be authorized
