Specialist – Patent Search

Job Description:

• Prepare and provide patent search and analysis services in collaboration with laboratory teams and intellectual property legal personnel within the Global Legal Service Center.
• Apply subject-matter expertise in physical sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Material/Polymer Science) to support IP-related activities.
• Conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyses using tools such as PatSnap and Espacenet.
• Independently manage and prioritize incoming search requests, ensuring all necessary information is obtained to meet search objectives.
• Prepare and deliver clear, accurate search reports, including assessments of technologies and patent claims.
• Collaborate with IP liaisons and patent attorneys to support the overall IP management process
• Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies by interpreting data and researching relevant rules and guidelines.
• Manage sensitive and confidential information, including records of invention, filing strategies, and patent applications.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients to understand and meet data management, and search requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional teams, and special projects as needed.
• Collaborate with IP liaisons and patent attorneys to support and contribute to the IP management process.
