Senior Software Engineer

We are hiring a Python Backend Engineer with strong hands-on experience in backend development, API design, microservices, asynchronous processing, database design, and production debugging. The candidate should be able to independently own backend modules, write clean and maintainable code, integrate with third-party systems, debug production issues, and work closely with product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and client-facing teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
• Build and maintain REST APIs for customer journeys, internal workflows, and third-party integrations.
• Work on microservices-based architecture and ensure modular, maintainable backend design.
• Implement asynchronous workflows, background jobs, queue-based processing, and retry mechanisms.
• Integrate with external APIs and financial ecosystem partners.
• Design database models, optimise SQL queries, and ensure data consistency.
• Write unit tests and support integration testing.
• Debug production issues, analyse logs, and improve system reliability.
• Work with DevOps teams for deployment, monitoring, and release management.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, and business teams to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant Fintech backend engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Python backend development.
• Practical experience with FastAPI / Django / Django REST Framework / Flask.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, async programming, and backend architecture.
• Must have worked on production-grade backend systems.
• Strong technical proficiency in Python, FastAPI / Django / Django REST Framework / Flask, REST APIs and Microservices.
• Exposure to Async programming, API authentication and authorisation and JWT / OAuth / RBAC.
• Strong technical proficiency in PostgreSQL / MySQL, SQLAlchemy / Django ORM, query optimisation, Indexing, transactions, and Data modelling.
• Background tasks and queue-based processing.
