Overview of Role

We are looking for an experienced Fullstack Engineer to lead the development of a modern, document-centric web interface integrated with Google Cloud Vertex AI Search. In this role, you will bridge frontend web applications with intelligent backend search pipelines to build document processing and automated document creation features for an enterprise-grade agentic AI platform.

This contract-to-hire position combines complex Python backend engineering, modern React frontend design, and AI/search platform integration to deliver scalable, business-critical software.

Duration- Up to 11 weeks with potential conversion to full time role.

Location- Remote

Tentative start date: End of August

Responsibilities:

• Frontend Development: Architect and build clean, responsive user interfaces in React tailored for complex document handling, data extraction, and interactive workflows.
• Backend Development & APIs: Write performant, maintainable Python services and RESTful APIs to connect user interfaces with underlying search engines and data pipelines.
• Search & AI Integration: Connect application workflows to Vertex AI Search, optimizing document indexing, query retrieval, and agentic AI prompt/response pipelines.
• Document Processing Systems: Implement robust solutions for uploading, parsing, rendering, and auto-generating enterprise documents within the platform.
• Performance & Scalability: Optimize state management, initial load times, and API latency for seamless real-time interactions with search indices.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, participate in peer code reviews, and adhere to strict enterprise security standards.
• Technical Collaboration: Work alongside cloud engineers, technical architects, and leadership to refine requirements and maintain steady project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering end-to-end web applications in production environments.
• Core Tech Stack: Proven mastery of Python (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and modern React (hooks, state management, asynchronous data flow).
• Search & RAG Concepts: Practical experience integrating vector search or enterprise search platforms (e.g., Google Vertex AI Search, Elasticsearch, Pinecone).
• Document Handling: Exposure to document parsing, unstructured data pipelines, or automated document creation workflows.
• Cloud & Security: Familiarity with cloud ecosystem fundamentals (preferably Google Cloud Platform) and secure data-handling practices.
• Availability & Time Zone: Ability to work primary business hours aligned with Central, Mountain, or Eastern time zones.
