The position is primarily focused on backend development with Java and Spring Boot, while offering opportunities to contribute across the stack.

Accountabilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance software systems using Java 8 and Spring Boot, following established development best practices.
• Contribute to the development of a new technology platform for a major client in the insurance sector.
• Build and integrate APIs and backend services to support reliable and scalable application functionality.
• Monitor the health, stability, and performance of services, identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Investigate technical problems and contribute to solutions that improve application reliability and overall system performance.
• Collaborate with other developers and project stakeholders in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
• Participate in continuous technical improvement, adopting good engineering practices and contributing ideas for innovation.
• Support agile development practices and maintain effective collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing software with Java 8 and Spring Boot.
• Practical understanding of backend programming concepts and experience working with APIs and web services.
• Experience or familiarity with Python, including backend frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• Ability to understand, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend systems and services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to application health, performance, and reliability.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a highly technical development team.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and interest in exploring new technologies and development approaches.
• Familiarity with React is a plus, particularly for candidates interested in contributing across the stack.
• Knowledge of Git, Web APIs, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and AWS is desirable.
• Experience with agile methodologies is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and a results-oriented approach to software development.
