People Operations Manager

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced People Operations Manager to join our People team based in Bangalore. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end employee lifecycle for our India team while driving operational excellence across HR operations, recruitment, performance management, employee experience, and cross-functional people initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of People, you'll partner closely with managers across Engineering, Product, Finance, IT, and our global People team to deliver scalable People programs and support a growing business. This role offers a high level of ownership and autonomy, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building efficient processes, working in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions and time zones.

This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, with an expectation to work from the office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations

* Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle for the India team, including onboarding, offboarding, employment documentation, HRIS administration, employee records, and day-to-day HR operations.

* Partner with the Head of People, Finance, IT, and external vendors to support payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.

* Coordinate annual and mid-year performance review cycles, including performance documentation, compensation reviews, promotions, and bonus processes.

* Support employee relations, policy interpretation, employee engagement initiatives, and partner with managers to deliver a positive employee experience.

* Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and provide HR support across multiple functions.

Recruitment

* Manage end-to-end recruitment for India, with a strong focus on Technology and Product hiring.

* Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, manage offers, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.

* Manage recruitment agencies and track hiring metrics to continuously improve recruitment effectiveness and employer branding.

Data, Excel & Reporting

* Prepare and maintain HR dashboards and reports covering headcount, hiring, attrition, compensation, and other key People metrics.

* Support payroll reconciliations and ad hoc reporting for business and leadership teams.

* Leverage advanced Excel and HR systems to maintain accurate data and generate meaningful insights for decision-making.

AI-Enabled Ways of Working

* Use AI tools to improve efficiency across HR operations, recruitment, documentation, reporting, and administrative workflows.

* Leverage AI to draft job descriptions, policies, employee communications, and reports while applying sound judgment to validate outputs for accuracy, quality, and compliance.

* Continuously identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency through AI.

Cross-Border Collaboration

* Collaborate closely with the Head of People, global People team, and stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Finance, IT, and other business functions.

* Coordinate HR initiatives, recruitment activities, and People programs across multiple regions and time zones.

* Build strong cross-functional relationships and ensure consistent HR processes and employee experience across global teams.

Requirements:

* 5-8 years of HR experience with strong expertise across HR Operations and Talent Acquisition.

* Proven experience hiring for Technology and Product roles, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.

* Experience working in a PE/VC-backed, SaaS, or FinTech company is highly preferred.

* Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle, HR operations, performance management, and Indian employment practices.

* Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas) with the ability to work confidently with HR and compensation data.

* Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve HR operations, recruitment, reporting, and documentation, with the judgment to validate AI-generated outputs.

* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating across global teams.

* Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms such as HiBob and Teamtailar is a plus.

* Based in Bangalore and willing to work in a hybrid model (minimum three days per week from the office).
