The Opportunity
The Marketing Director, Americas for Abbott Molecular Diagnostics is responsible for leading the Americas marketing organization to drive commercial growth, portfolio performance, and customer adoption across the Molecular Diagnostics business. The role provides strategic leadership to regional marketing activities, partners with Global Marketing to shape portfolio and product strategies, and identifies opportunities for business expansion and market growth throughout the Americas.
This role is accountable for developing and executing the Americas marketing strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, customer adoption, and achievement of financial objectives across the Molecular Diagnostics portfolio.
The individual serves as the voice of the Americas customer and commercial organization, influencing global portfolio strategy, product development priorities, commercialization plans, and launch readiness activities.
Leads a team of Product Managers and is responsible for building organizational capability, developing talent, and creating a high-performance culture that supports business growth and innovation.
Manages the Training Lead for the Americas and is responsible for setting the training plan, curriculum, schedule and ongoing training initiatives for the organization.
What You’ll Work On
- Develop and execute the annual Americas marketing strategy and operating plan to support commercial objectives, accelerate portfolio growth, and strengthen market leadership.
- Responsible for leading Americas marketing strategy and tactical execution, ensuring the Sales team has the tools, training, processes, and market insights necessary to achieve financial Plan, instrument placement, product launch, and growth objectives.
- Accountable for achieving revenue growth, market share objectives, instrument placement targets, and commercial performance goals across the Americas Molecular Diagnostics portfolio.
- Ensure that all direct reports receive the appropriate training and development in all aspects of tactical marketing.
- Coach, develop, and mentor direct reports while building succession plans and strengthening organizational capability within the Americas Marketing team.
- Lead the team in development of the annual marketing plans with project focus and budgets, timelines and executional details.
- Manage marketing budgets, investment priorities, and resource allocation to maximize return on investment and business impact.
- Analyzes market data including competitive activity and regulatory requirements and alters strategies as necessary.
- Leverage market insights, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and business analytics to identify growth opportunities and adjust commercial strategies as needed.
- Partner closely with Sales, Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Market Access, and Operations to ensure successful commercialization and execution of business priorities.
- Will focus on the larger US marketing but also have responsibility for interfacing with Latin America and Canada to drive consistency across the Americas.
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders across the United States, Canada, and Latin America to ensure consistent execution while adapting strategies to local market needs and customer requirements.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market segments, partnerships, and portfolio expansion opportunities that support long-term growth objectives.
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to division leadership regarding market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and emerging growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Abbott quality systems, regulatory requirements, and OEC standards across all marketing activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or technical discipline. MBA preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the diagnostics or medical devices industry, and a minimum of 6 years of experience in sales, marketing, related commercial role or relevant industry experience.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience and skills.
- The position requires an understanding of both the technology and capabilities of the diagnostics products and how the functional areas work together as well as the needs of the customers we serve. Must have demonstrated leadership capability and an understanding of the sales process for diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of the US market is required and experience working with Latin America and Canada markets is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders within a matrixed global organization.
- Experience developing and executing commercialization strategies, product launches, and growth initiatives in regulated healthcare environments is strongly preferred.

The base pay for this position is
$149,300.00 - $298,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
