MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To ensure the plant meets its customer quality, service, regulatory, financial and safety goals through effective technical support of DRO and BRO products.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The position impacts on plant and technical operations, as well as manufacturing and financial exposure of decisions.

  • Project Management: Independently design, manage, and conduct complex long duration projects, product improvements, and investigations (or supportsThird Party Manufacturing projects).

  • Productand ProcessImprovements: Independently manage complex long duration projects, product improvements, and investigations. Recognizesopportunities and proposesnovel ideas for significant operational, processor product improvements. Proactively identifyopportunities for significant operational, processor product improvements. Perform or support test and process method modifications, considering CQAs, critical process parametersand analytical performance characteristics. Identifytechnical alternatives and make risk-based decisions within the area. Use technical data that interacts with multiple areas and processes. Provides diverse, independent technical data and insight to support risk management evaluation and assessment.

  • Design controland riskmanagement: Effectively balances compliance risk and business risk to create and review risk management files.

  • Complaintand internal investigations: Independentlymanagescomplexinvestigationsto resolution. Demonstratesadvancedstatisticaltechniques, MAIC and orprojectmanagementtools. Providesauditinputsand support as required

  • Technical Support: Assistin resolution of multiple complex technical and quality issues across ADD Sites, TPMs and orfunctions (instrument;reagents;software and commodities). Anticipate, recognizeand resolve technical issues.

  • Sharing Knowledge: Presents complex technical information to internal and external groups. Shares scientific information and expertisewith customers and regulatory agencies. Experience mentoring and teaching others to facilitatetimelyresolution of product and process technical issues.

  • Strategic and ResultsOrientation: Demonstratesfiscal responsibility through actionable recommendations and accomplishments. Translates top-level goals to specific goals and aligns activities with respective strategic business priorities.

  • EHS: Complete all activities in a safe manner ensuring that any potential safety issues and areas for improvement are highlighted to Manager. Ensure Environmental procedures e.g.recycling, waste minimization are adhered to and improvements made where possible.

  • Provides scientific and technical leadership and direction to project teams or other cross-functional teams to meet established timelines and departmental goals and objectives.

  • Independently manages internal or external product investigations and related CAPA activities.

EHS Requirement

To ensure Environmental health & Safety standards are met and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to. Foster an awareness of Environmental Health & Safety in the plant and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Third Level Qualification in a relevant discipline.

  • 4-6 years’ related work experience. Advanced degree preferred. (Advanced degree(s) may offset required years of experience).

SKILLS

  • Ability to work with all levels of management.

  • Effectively communicates with project team and other site personnel.

  • High level of interaction with other Abbott sites; some interaction at corporate level as well as with external customers and agencies.
