AbhiBus is a leading online bus-ticketing platform that aggregates ticket inventory from over 4,000 bus operators - including major State Road Transport Corporations (SRTCs), covering more than 3.5 lakh (350,000+) routes across India. The AbhiBus website and apps allow users to check amenities provided by bus operators, compare booking fares, check bus timings in the searched route, live tracking of the bus before arrival, cancellation protection options and other facilities. It is the official ticketing partner for several state road transport corporation bus tickets and IRCTC bus bookings.

AbhiBus is owned and operated by ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited), India’s leading OTA for the Next Billion Users. With over 54 crore Annual Active Users in FY25, ixigo offers AI-powered train, flight, bus, and hotel bookings through its platforms - ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and AbhiBus.

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
• Utilize ORMs such as Sequelize and Mongoose to handle database operations efficiently.
• Implement messaging systems and real-time communication using Kafka, streams, and sockets.
• Design, develop, and optimize APIs for high availability and scalability.
• Deliver optimized, high-performance code that adheres to best practices.
• Apply knowledge of dynamic programming to solve complex problems and improve application performance.
• Implement and maintain efficient memory management strategies in code.
• Contribute to low-level design (LLD) by creating clear, modular, and maintainable architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand various architectural patterns and adapt solutions accordingly.
• Debug and resolve issues in live applications, ensuring high system availability and reliability.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and integrate them as necessary.
• Actively leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent) to accelerate backend development - from API scaffolding and schema design to debugging async code and refactoring legacy services.
• Use AI for architecture planning, code reviews, query optimization, and writing test cases - treating AI as a force-multiplier rather than a replacement for engineering judgment.
• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development with Node.js and related technologies.
• Proficiency in working with databases like MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Strong understanding of Kafka and message-oriented middleware.
• Knowledge of real-time technologies such as WebSockets.
• Experience with ORMs like Sequelize and Mongoose.
• Proven experience with dynamic programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Understanding of memory management techniques and performance optimization.
• Solid knowledge of low-level design principles and their application in software architecture.
• Familiarity with multiple architectural patterns and flexibility to work with diverse frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent) in day-to-day development workflows, with the judgment to validate AI output rather than blindly accept it.

Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
