Job Summary

Absolute Internship is seeking an empathetic, detail-oriented, and proactive Student Visa & Compliance Specialist to join our global operations team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as our students' trusted guide through the visa and immigration process while acting as the team's first line of defense on compliance and legal risk.

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a background in international student services, immigration compliance, or legal administration who excels at turning complex legal requirements into simple, reassuring processes. You will work closely with our operational leadership, regional teams, and external legal advisors in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What is Absolute Internship?

We are a turning point. In just a decade, Absolute Internship has grown into a household name in international education, leading the industry across global hubs from London and Madrid to Tokyo and Singapore. We partner with world-class companies and universities to empower students to step out of their comfort zones and discover the world-and themselves-through life-changing experiences.

But we are more than just a program provider. We are a lifelong community of belonging and a mission-driven team. While we offer immersive programs abroad that help students build professional networks and connect with industry leaders, our impact goes further. We will launch and grow our foundation to provide easier access to education for 500 children around the world by 2031.

Recognized by The New York Times, BBC, and Bloomberg, we don't just offer internships; we inspire a generation to pursue their passions on a global stage.

Why Work With Us? Most jobs offer a paycheck. Some offer a career. We offer a mission.

At Absolute, you join a team that is small but mighty, global yet intimate. You’ll find a culture that is versatile, entrepreneurial, and deeply flexible. We don't just "go to work"-we move the needle, innovate through obstacles, and celebrate wins, no matter the size.

Who You Are

  • Patient & Empathetic Communicator: You understand that visa processes can be stressful for students. You are a reassuring voice who breaks down dense legal jargon into simple, comforting, actionable steps.

  • Meticulously Detail-Oriented: You get satisfaction from catching a tiny typo on a form, or a risky clause in a contract, before it becomes a weeks-long problem.

  • Risk-Aware & Compliance-Minded: You naturally spot where a process, contract, or arrangement could expose students or the company, and you raise it early with a clear recommendation.

  • Culturally Agile & Cool Under Pressure: You love interacting with people from all over the world and stay grounded and solution-oriented when consulates change rules on tight timelines.

  • Master of Follow-Up: You don't wait for things to go wrong. You are proactive, highly organized, and comfortable managing a large portfolio of students and compliance tasks concurrently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Student Advising & Document Review: Serve as the primary resource for international students, providing step-by-step guidance, timelines, and pre-submission document reviews to ensure error-free consulate applications.

  • Immigration Tracking & Problem-Solving: Proactively track student visa applications in our CRM, deliver real-time support during delays or roadblocks, and host pre-departure webinars and Q&A sessions.

  • Resource Creation & Guidance: Develop and maintain student-friendly visa guides, FAQs, checklists, and video tutorials to streamline the pre-departure experience.

  • Labor & Immigration Law Compliance: Research and monitor regulatory changes (including internship rules, permitted hours, and host company paperwork) across current and future program destinations.

  • Visa Processing Risk Management: Identify operational risks across destinations and visa types, maintain a centralized Risk Register, report insights to leadership, and lead incident responses when challenges arise.

  • General Legal & Contract Support: Support due diligence for new location launches and advise on internal compliance questions and partner contracts as needed.

Professional Expectations

  • Professional, positive, and respectful communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prompt responses, adhering to our internal communication and follow-up standards.

  • Strong research, organizational, and time-management skills to meet strict operational and visa deadlines.

Ideal Qualities and Experience

  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in student visa coordination, international student services, immigration compliance, or a related legal/contracts role.

  • Legal & Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of student visa processes and labor regulations in major global destinations. A background in law, international relations, or compliance is a strong plus.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's or legal background preferred.

  • Languages: Full fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional languages relevant to our program hubs are a plus.

  • Tech & Risk Management: Strong proficiency in CRM data management, risk assessment, and tracking operational workflows.

  • Mindset: Student-centric, proactive, highly adaptable, and committed to protecting both the student experience and organizational compliance.
