As a Consultant - Smart Grid Operations, you will work at the intersection of Power Systems, Operational Technology (OT), and Digital Transformation. You will support leading grid operators in modernizing control room operations, implementing smart grid technologies, and developing the digital capabilities needed to manage the increasingly complex power networks of the future.

Whether it's optimizing SCADA environments, improving flexibility management, enabling real-time operational insights, or designing next-generation grid solutions, you will contribute directly to building a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

What You'll Do

Transform Grid Operations Through Digital Innovation

Help transmission and distribution system operators modernize their operational environments and implement solutions that improve the reliability, efficiency, and flexibility of electricity networks.

Deliver Smart Grid Solutions

Work on projects involving technologies such as SCADA, control room systems, Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), flexibility platforms, OT infrastructure, and advanced monitoring solutions.

Bridge Engineering and Digital Technology

Translate operational challenges into practical solutions by combining your knowledge of power systems, operational processes, and digital technologies.

Enable Data-Driven Decision Making

Leverage operational and system data to generate insights, improve situational awareness, and support critical operational decisions.

Drive the Energy Transition

Support grid operators in integrating renewable energy sources, managing congestion challenges, and increasing network flexibility to meet future energy demands.

Grow Into a Trusted Advisor

What We're Looking For

Education

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

• Experience within utilities, energy, operational technology, smart grids, power systems, SCADA environments, or related technical domains.

• Experience supporting digital transformation, operational improvement, or technology implementation projects.

• Familiarity with transmission and distribution networks and utility operations.

• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

• Understanding of power systems, grid operations, energy management, or electricity network processes.

• Experience in consulting, engineering, technology, or operational environments is considered an advantage.

Skills

• Understanding of transmission and distribution system operations.

• Knowledge of SCADA, control room operations, energy management systems, DERMS, OT infrastructure, or related technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to translate operational challenges into practical and technology-enabled solutions.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Interest in digital innovation and the future of energy systems.

• Fluency in Dutch and English.

• Experience working with transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), utilities, or energy service providers.

• Knowledge of renewable energy integration, flexibility management, congestion management, or grid modernization programs.

• Exposure to advanced analytics, digital twins, IoT, artificial intelligence, or data-driven operational solutions.

• Certifications related to power systems, utilities, project management, Agile methodologies, cloud technologies, or digital transformation.

• Experience working in consulting environments.
