The Learning & Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and administration of learning and development activities across the hotel. The role ensures that employees receive the required training and development opportunities in line with Sofitel standards, hotel objectives, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of the hotel's annual Learning & Development plan.

  • Coordinate internal training programs, workshops, and learning activities for all departments.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly training calendars and schedules.

  • Coordinate induction and orientation programs for new employees.

  • Support departmental trainers in preparing and delivering training sessions.

  • Maintain and update training materials, presentations, manuals, and learning resources.

  • Monitor employee attendance and participation in training programs.

  • Follow up on external training programs and ensure effective application of learning in the workplace.

  • Promote e-learning and digital learning platforms across the hotel.

  • Assist in identifying training needs based on performance reviews, guest feedback, audits, and departmental requirements.

Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all employees.

  • Prepare training attendance sheets, evaluations, certificates, and related documentation.

  • Prepare monthly Learning & Development reports and statistics.

  • Maintain employee training files and ensure all required documentation is properly recorded.

  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the Learning & Development budget.

  • Ensure training activities comply with hotel and Accor standards.

Quality & Performance

  • Support quality improvement initiatives throughout the hotel.

  • Monitor guest feedback and identify training opportunities based on guest satisfaction results.

  • Assist with internal audits, quality inspections, and follow-up action plans.

  • Support departments in implementing corrective and improvement actions related to training and quality.

  • Work closely with department heads and supervisors to improve employee performance and service standards.

Employee Development

  • Support the preparation and implementation of individual development plans.

  • Assist managers and supervisors in identifying employee development needs.

  • Support coaching and feedback initiatives across departments.

  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with the General Manager, Heads of Departments, People & Culture team, and Regional/Area Learning & Development teams when required.

  • Communicate training schedules, programs, and updates to all relevant departments.

  • Ensure effective communication regarding important learning and development initiatives.

  • Build positive working relationships with employees, managers, and external training providers.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in training and development, preferably in a hotel environment.

  • Good knowledge of training principles, learning methods, and employee development practices.

  • Good understanding of hotel operations and service standards.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees and managers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
