Its portfolio of more than 5,000 hotels spans brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Mercure, Novotel and ibis, alongside the ALL loyalty programme. The company is listed on Euronext Paris.

With us, you can take pride in being part of a wider global team leading the way in local sustainability initiatives. Working together with our communities, we will empower you to make your own meaningful impact. We will support you to maintain your wellbeing too, so that you can live life to the full.

Located in the heart of Brisbane city, Sofitel Brisbane Central is known for its sophisticated luxury accommodation, world-class dining, and impeccable hospitality. The hotel’s 416 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites offer refined French luxury, and with personalised service that comes from the heart, this is Brisbane’s best accommodation experience. The hotel also features elegant and indulgent food and beverage outlets, an executive lounge, two fitness centres, a day spa and fully flexible event spaces for up to 1100 delegates.

Are you an experienced purchasing professional with a passion for procurement, cost control and building strong supplier relationships? We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Purchasing Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the hotel's operational and financial performance.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Purchasing Manager will oversee the hotel's procurement and inventory management functions, ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with hotel and Accor purchasing standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with excellent organisational skills and a hands-on approach to purchasing and stock management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of goods and services.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities deliver optimum value, competitive pricing and quality while protecting the hotel's commercial interests.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel purchasing policies, procedures and Accor National Purchasing Guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating favourable pricing, terms and service agreements.
  • Monitor and analyse expenditure, providing regular daily, weekly and monthly reporting to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
  • Oversee inventory management and stock control, including monthly and periodic stocktakes across food, beverage and general hotel supplies.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs, stock movements, purchasing trends and cost of sales ratios, identifying and investigating variances.
  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing, product information, purchase orders and inventory data within the hotel's purchasing systems.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage and operational leaders to understand purchasing requirements and support menu costing, promotions and special events.
  • Coordinate the procurement of non-inventory items and capital expenditure as required.
  • Oversee hotel stores and receiving operations, ensuring appropriate stock rotation, security, storage and compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and HACCP requirements.
  • Maintain the purchasing manual and continually review processes to improve efficiency, accountability and cost control.
  • Promote sustainable purchasing practices, including environmental initiatives and responsible supplier engagement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement management role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management and cost control.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and confidence negotiating with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends and deliver meaningful reporting.
  • Experience with inventory management and purchasing software.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and time management.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A strong commitment to ethical purchasing practices, compliance and maintaining supplier relationships with integrity.

Bring your passion and dedication to excellence, and we will recognise your contribution with a variety of benefits, rewards and development opportunities. We also offer a range of wellbeing initiatives, including apps with content to help you feel at your best. Join us, and you can thrive as an individual as well as being part of a supportive and inclusive team.
