A bit about the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join within a brand-new delivery team within our employability service. We manage and deliver a range of programmes designed to help young people thrive in adult life - including support into the world of work. You will be part of an exciting new team developing co-beneficial relationships with a wide range of employers, local authorities, and other agencies.

Some key responsibilities of a Progression and Outcomes Coordinator include:

  • Aiming to hit clear targets for creating job and work experience / placement opportunities with existing and new partners across a variety of different occupational sectors
  • Developing and growing our database of employers through expanding our networks and reach, via telephone, email distribution lists, social media, face to face contact with employers, delivering presentation and marketing.
  • Liaising directly with employers, representing Action for Children at a range of employer forums and stakeholder events. Your talents as a networker can make a real difference to the life chances of young people with much to offer the world.
  • Monitoring and reviewing young people's progress while on placements - so you can directly see the positive impact your work is having.
  • Delivering employer expectations and interview skills sessions to groups of young people participating in the various programmes as required.
  • Supporting employers who are offering work placement / trial opportunities to our young people.
  • Organising and implementing workload, including up to date records of activity, completing paperwork required by our funders and obtaining employers liability insurance details and Health & Safety details.

Let's talk about you

  • We’re looking for some relevant experience, for example recruitment or employer engagement, or possibly a sales or relationship management background.
  • You’ll have a good understanding of the issues young people face in sourcing and sustaining employment.
  • Experience of identifying work experience opportunities and supporting young people to participate.
  • Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.

Why Action for Children?

Every child should have a loving home, food, warmth, the chance to grow and learn - the support to cope with life’s challenges. But too many children don’t. By bringing your passion and unique skills and experience, you’ll help us change that where it really matters.

We've been driven by love to take action for children for over 150 years, giving them the protection and practical help they need. A lot’s changed since 1869. But what children really need, hasn’t. So as long as children need us, we’ll be here.

Our Commitment to Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism

At Action for Children, we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to thrive. We know that racism and discrimination create barriers, and we are taking active steps to challenge these inequalities in our organisation and in the communities we serve.

We strongly welcome applications from people who are Black, Asian, or from other racialised and ethnically marginalised communities, as well as disabled people, who are currently under-represented in our workforce. We are committed to removing barriers in our recruitment processes and ensuring fair access to opportunities.

We also encourage applications from men, who are under-represented in our Children’s Services roles. We recognise that people hold multiple identities, and we value the richness this brings to our team.
