Metalwork / Locksmith Design Engineer (M/F)
your missions
Reporting to the design office manager, you have a global role on your projects, which you manage from A to Z in tandem with a site manager. The costing is done upstream: the position does not include a commercial component.
- Client relationship: as the primary contact for the client, you collect and understand their needs, then ensure the follow-up of the relationship throughout the project.
- Analysis: study of market documents (architect plans, CCTP, DPGF), technical constraints, and interfaces with other trades; site surveys.
- Design and drawing: you design and draw the structures yourself (railings, stairs, doors, frames, skeletons, small structural steel): principle details, EXE notebooks, manufacturing and installation plans, bills of materials.
- Follow-up until installation: integration of modifications, distribution of plans, technical meetings, and coordination with the workshop, installers, architects, and control offices.
- Education level Bac to Bac+3 in one of the following fields: metalwork, locksmithing or structural steel; metal construction; design office or industrial design. Significant experience in metalwork can compensate for less specialized training.
- A first experience in a metalwork or locksmithing design office will be appreciated.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software; TopSolid appreciated.
- Knowledge of Eurocodes, DTU, railing standards, PMR accessibility, and fire safety.
- Driving license B mandatory: occasional travel to construction sites (Loire mainly, sometimes Paris, Haute-Savoie, South of France).
Technical skills count, but the priority for this position is excellent interpersonal skills with the client: knowing how to listen, understand their needs, and ensure follow-up until the delivery of the work. We are looking for a motivated person who wants to get involved in their projects and the team, and to learn. The company supports you with internal training to help you develop your skills.
