HOME ABOUT US PROJECT CAREERS CONTACT US NEWS Adkan Service Nigeria Limited:Partnering a new trend in urban development Adkan Service Nigeria Limited is a wholly indigenous construction company with a bias of undertaking construction projects essentially within the country.

Adkan Service Nigeria Limited is a wholly indigenous construction company with a bias of undertaking construction projects essentially within the country. The reason for this nationalistic and patriotic bent is to join hands with others of like minds in other specialised fields in making Nigeria not only the pride of other nations but a reference point in Architectural designs and brilliantly executed construction projects. In furtherance of this mission statement, it is worth stating that all our completed projects can stand the test of time and can also compete favourably with similar projects elsewhere in the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Structural & Civil Engineer

  • Carry out structural analysis and design of foundations, columns, beams, slabs, retaining walls, and other structural elements.

  • Assess soil investigation reports and coordinate appropriate foundation solutions with relevant professionals.
  • Identify and resolve structural design challenges and construction-related technical issues.
  • Ensure structural designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and safety requirements.

Civil Engineering and Construction Supervision:

  • Supervise civil and structural engineering works on construction sites.
  • Monitor foundation works, reinforced concrete works, formwork, reinforcement installation, blockwork, drainage, roads, and other associated civil works.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Verify materials, workmanship, construction methods, and test results in line with project requirements.
  • Identify defects, deviations, and potential structural risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure that site activities comply with approved method statements, health and safety procedures, and relevant regulations.

Estate Development and Infrastructure:

  • Coordinate civil engineering works for estate development projects, including access roads, drainage systems, stormwater management, earthworks, and site grading.
  • Support the planning and implementation of infrastructure for residential estates and multi-building developments.
  • Review site layouts, engineering drawings, levels, and infrastructure plans.
  • Coordinate with utility providers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders on infrastructure requirements.
  • Monitor infrastructure construction to ensure compliance with approved designs, project specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Project Coordination and Management:

  • Coordinate structural and civil engineering activities across multiple construction projects.
  • Work closely with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Review project drawings and identify potential clashes or inconsistencies before and during construction.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and milestones.
  • Participate in site meetings, technical reviews, project planning sessions, and progress reporting.
  • Coordinate contractors and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution of construction activities.
  • Track technical issues, variations, material requirements, and outstanding works to support timely project completion.
  • Prepare site inspection reports, progress reports, technical assessments, and other project documentation.

Quality Assurance, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures for structural and civil engineering works.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, relevant engineering standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor concrete testing, reinforcement checks, material quality, and other required inspection procedures.
  • Identify construction risks and recommend practical measures to prevent delays, defects, and safety incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, approvals, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Substantial relevant professional experience in structural and civil engineering, preferably 8–15 years or more, with demonstrated responsibility for building construction and project coordination.

  • Demonstrable experience in estate development and associated civil infrastructure works.
  • Strong understanding of reinforced concrete structures, foundation engineering, structural analysis, and construction methods.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and supervising contractors on active construction sites.
  • Ability to interpret and review architectural, structural, civil, and building services drawings.

  • Excellent coordination skills and the confidence to engage consultants, contractors, clients, and senior management.
  • A hands-on approach to site supervision, technical decision-making, and project delivery.
  • A strong commitment to structural safety, engineering integrity, quality, and professional standards.
