Engineering Manager - Machine Learning
The Bucharest Express AI Pillar engineering team seeks an experienced ML Engineering Manager to lead the AI foundations development. Your role will involve leading the development of Machine Learning features, infrastructure and foundation. You will also be responsible for managing the model hosting, delivery infrastructure, and ethical dataset creation.
What you’ll do:
Lead and manage a team of up to 10 people;
Guide team through research, technical design, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of the application.
Influence design decisions and technical direction for engineers, researchers, product managers and senior leaders.
Ensure transparency of project status to partners
Lead each team member’s performance, employing ongoing performance feedback and coaching. Develop and evolve engineering processes and collaboration models to optimize team efficiency.
Hire and manage a team of exceptional engineers and machine learning scientists, overseeing implementation and research processes.
Create a team culture that emphasizes excellence in engineering and applied research. Encourage deep customer engagement and out of the box thinking.
Work closely with teams and managers across Adobe, in different geographies. The technology you produce will have visibility at the highest levels of the company and materially affect the positive impact products have on our customers.
Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field. Knowledge and/or experience building machine learning applications are a big plus.
5+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading teams that built complex applications. Ability to balance the advantages of each approach in practice.
7+ years of experience as on the ML field with consistent and state-of-the-art results
Experience in building and leading teams with multiple ML engineers and researchers.
Demonstrated ability to build a diverse team of top engineers and ML researchers in a competitive job market.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
Strong working knowledge of modern software development and research methodologies and software design patterns.
Outstanding ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to partner teams.
Strong customer empathy and demonstrated engagement with customers and partners to truly delight users.
Knowing the sweet spot between “getting it done” and building a sustainable product.
