Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Summary :

The Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow platform solutions that support business and IT operations.

This role works closely with stakeholders, architects, business analysts, and administrators to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing applications across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

The individual will provide technical leadership, drive platform best practices, mentor junior developers, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives through workflow automation and employee experience enhancements.

Major Responsibilities :

Platform Development & Administration :

- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions aligned with business requirements.

- Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, forms, UI policies, business rules, and client scripts.

- Develop and support Service Catalog items, Record Producers, Flow Designer workflows, and automation solutions.

- Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, MID Server, and Integration Hub.

Solution Design & Delivery :

- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design platform enhancements and new capabilities.

- Participate in platform upgrades, patch management, and release activities.

- Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow development standards, governance, and best practices.

ITSM & Platform Expertise :

- Develop and support ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Employee Center, HRSD, and Incident, Change, Problem, and Request Management.

AI & Automation :

- Implement workflow automation using Flow Designer and Integration Hub.

- Support the adoption of ServiceNow AI capabilities, including Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, Now Assist, and Generative AI features.

- Develop intelligent self-service capabilities to improve user experience and operational efficiency.

Quality & Support :

- Perform unit testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

- Provide technical support for production issues and critical incidents.

- Maintain technical documentation, development standards, and knowledge articles.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to project teams.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and project managers throughout the development lifecycle.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and platform governance.

Professional Qualifications/Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) preferred.

- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) preferred.

- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications are highly desirable.

- ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

- Additional certifications in Agile, Scrum, Cloud Technologies, or Integration Platforms are advantageous.

- 8 - 12 years of overall IT experience.

- 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments.

- Experience with JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, APIs, and platform integrations.

- Hands-on experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Portal / Employee Center.

- Experience implementing ITSM, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, and CMDB solutions.

- Knowledge of ServiceNow AI capabilities, Virtual Agent, Now Assist, and workflow automation preferred.

- Experience working in Agile development environments.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

- Experience collaborating with global teams and supporting large-scale enterprise deployments.
