Job Description:

• Coordinates cardiology and radiology workflows, reviewing patient wait times, satisfaction, and communication with radiologists.
• Ensures accurate scheduling and proper outpatient preparation for tests.
• Schedules all Special/Interventional Radiology and Cardiology procedures via phone, EMR, or fax.
• Reviews tentative schedules and consults with Modality Leader, Lead Nurse,
• Admissions, radiologists, etc., regarding schedule administration.
• Addresses schedule conflicts and requests outside policy with Directors, Managers, Nursing, Radiologist, and Modality Leaders.
• Seeks input on scheduling constraints and equipment preferences.
• Flags special needs and informs departments about add-on cases for non-admitted patients.
• Sends reservations for scheduled cases within set timeframes. Monitors, provides feedback, and implements workflow improvements with Director approval.
• Supports front-desk operations to reduce wait times and resolve service issues. Releases radiology films and reports, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Confirms outpatient appointments. Other duties as assigned.

• • Must be able to use own judgment and initiative to resolve immediate and urgent problems and expedite patient care as needed. [Required]
• • Must be able to interact and deal with challenging situations in dealing with patients and families in a tactful, calm and professional manner that invites cooperation and communication. [Required]
• • Is required to maintain required level of confidentiality. [Required]
• • Knowledge of medical terminology. [Required]
• • Must be able to type and perform order entry on HIS System, as well as retrieve information. [Required]
• • Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of PACS preferred. [Preferred]
• • Knowledge of PowerScribe [Preferred]
• • Knowledge of PowerShare [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ leadership experience upon hire [Preferred]
• 3+ radiology services experience upon hire [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
