Job Description:

• Assists in the recovery of tissues such as bone, tendons, dura, skin, veins, pericardium, and heart valves for transplantation.
• Transports equipment and supplies, and manages inventory of recovery supplies.
• Ensures the recovery site meets the Standards of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB).
• Performs tissue recovery, preservation, and bioburden testing procedures according to departmental policies.
• Stays current on existing policies and procedures related to tissue recovery.
• Reports on time to designated areas when called to participate in tissue recovery.
• Promotes and participates in a team approach with other staff members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of operating room set-up, sterile technique, prepping, draping, and surgical instrumentation [Required]
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members [Required]
• Strong organizational and time management skills [Required]
• Anatomy and Physiology [Preferred]
• Physical assessment skills [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ hospital/clinical experience [Required]
• Previous Tissue Recovery Experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Preferred]
