Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.They are expected to maintaina high levelof professionalism and compassion during all interactions.

  • Musthave a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.

As a Medical Assistant, you’llplay a vital role inthe care team - supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.

  • Prepare patients for exams and assistproviders during procedures.

  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.

  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequentlythroughout the workday.

  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.

  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with abilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.

  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.

  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.

  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be wornas necessary.

  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

  • Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may be identifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
