AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Scientist III. The Natural Resources and Environmental Permitting Department in New York and New Jersey is seeking a qualified scientist (3-10 yrs experience) to perform air quality and/or noise impact analyses through using mathematical modeling tools and conducting ambient and source air and noise monitoring programs. Skills required for this position include but are not limited to:
- Perform field work in both urban and rural settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a larger team is a must.
- Eager to learn various air and noise modeling software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ambient and noise monitoring experience required.
- BS degree in Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and computational skill.
- Candidate must have excellent technical writing skills and ability to effectively discussion his or her work.
- Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently.
- Candidate must be experienced with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, AERMOD, MOVES, CadnaA or SoundPLAN, sound levels meter, and/or air monitoring equipment a plus.
- 40 hour HAZWOPER training.
- Estimated office/field time: 70% / 30%. Must be willing to travel.
