  • Provide expert technical guidance for the design, construction, supervision, rehabilitation, and maintenance of bridges and highway structures.
  • Review and assess structural designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and construction methodologies for major bridges and associated structures.
  • Supervise construction of major bridges, including foundations, substructures, superstructures, bearings, expansion joints, approaches, and protection works.
  • Ensure that bridge and structural works comply with applicable IRC codes, MoRTH/NHAI specifications, BIS standards, approved drawings, and contractual requirements.
  • Review and monitor structural materials, reinforcement, concrete works, structural steel, prestressing systems, bearings, expansion joints, and other critical components through appropriate inspections and testing.
  • Carry out/assist in structural inspections and condition assessments of major bridges and identify defects, distress, deterioration, and potential structural risks.
  • Provide technical recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, strengthening, retrofitting, and maintenance of existing major bridges and structures.
  • Monitor Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of major bridges, including periodic inspections, maintenance requirements, structural health, and implementation of remedial measures.
  • Review structural safety issues, investigate defects, distress, failures, or potential failure mechanisms, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with the Client, Team Leader/Project Manager, Contractor, design consultants, and other specialists, and prepare/review technical reports, inspection reports, structural assessments, and recommendations related to bridges and structures.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Experience of at least 12 years in handling Bridge Projects.
  • Handled at least 2 projects involving at least one Major Bridge (minimum 300 m length without approaches)
  • Experience in O&M of Major Bridge (minimum 300 m length).
  • Medical certificate of fitness as per Appendix-B-l. (in case of Age being more than 60 years

Preferential Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Highway Development Projects (length 40% or more).
  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Project Management.
  • Residential training programme on Collapse/failure of bridges/structures.
