AECOM is an American infrastructure consulting firm that became independent in 1990 through a management buyout from the energy group Ashland, and is now one of the largest design and engineering organisations in the world. It plans, designs and manages delivery of transport systems, water and wastewater infrastructure, buildings, environmental remediation and energy projects for public agencies and private developers across roughly one hundred and fifty countries. Headquartered in Dallas after relocating from Los Angeles, the company sold its self-perform construction and government services arms to concentrate on higher-margin professional services rather than carrying construction risk.

  • Review and coordinate designs with other disciplines including geotechnical, marine, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and project specifications including relevant port, marine, seismic, and structural design requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers and designers.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to deliver high-quality, technically sound design outputs.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, risk evaluations, and project coordination meetings.
  • Manage deliverable registers, revision control, and quality assurance of own outputs.
  • Support site investigations, construction activities, and field reviews as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering + minimum 6 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering related to industrial infrastructure, bulk materials handling systems, ports, marine facilities, heavy civil infrastructure, or similar projects.
