AECOM is an American infrastructure consulting firm that became independent in 1990 through a management buyout from the energy group Ashland, and is now one of the largest design and engineering organisations in the world. It plans, designs and manages delivery of transport systems, water and wastewater infrastructure, buildings, environmental remediation and energy projects for public agencies and private developers across roughly one hundred and fifty countries. Headquartered in Dallas after relocating from Los Angeles, the company sold its self-perform construction and government services arms to concentrate on higher-margin professional services rather than carrying construction risk.

    • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Approximately four to five years of relevant project accounting experience, ideally gained within a multinational organisation.
    • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced and international business environment.
    • Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • The ability to manage detailed financial information while understanding the broader commercial and operational picture.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to different stakeholders.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
    • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Experience collaborating closely with operational teams and a broad range of stakeholders.
