AECOM is an American infrastructure consulting firm that became independent in 1990 through a management buyout from the energy group Ashland, and is now one of the largest design and engineering organisations in the world. It plans, designs and manages delivery of transport systems, water and wastewater infrastructure, buildings, environmental remediation and energy projects for public agencies and private developers across roughly one hundred and fifty countries. Headquartered in Dallas after relocating from Los Angeles, the company sold its self-perform construction and government services arms to concentrate on higher-margin professional services rather than carrying construction risk.

AECOM is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to help ensure federal facility repairs in Kauai, Hawaii meet project requirements as hurricane recovery work advances. Assigned scopes may include roof and building envelope restoration, interior repairs following water damage, utility restoration, and related infrastructure work. You will inspect materials and workmanship, compare field conditions with approved drawings and specifications, and document findings so the team can address deficiencies promptly. Working closely with construction managers, field engineers, and subcontractors, you will help confirm that urgent repairs are completed correctly and that permanent restoration work is supported by clear inspection and quality records.

This role will require an onsite presence in Kauai, Hawaii and is eligible for per diem related expenses when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned repairs for conformance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship and identify damage, deviations, or incomplete work requiring correction.
  • Maintain inspection reports, photographs, checklists, and deficiency and corrective action records.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with field teams and qualified testing personnel; review supporting records.
  • Track nonconforming work, communicate findings, and verify corrective actions through follow up inspections.
  • Support punch lists, final inspections, and turnover documentation while following site safety and access requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of construction quality control inspection experience on facility or infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of construction quality control inspection experience supporting building repairs, utility restoration, or infrastructure construction.
  • Experience with federal facility inspections, storm recovery repairs, and construction quality management practices.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications and maintain inspection and nonconformance records.
  • Relevant inspection credentials such as International Code Council (ICC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), or American Welding Society (AWS) certification.

At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
