AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Civil Engineer for employment in the Morgantown, WV office on a parrt-time variable basis.

We are seeking an experienced, client-focused engineer. Projects range from roadway and site-civil design, for highway and bridge projects, greenways, traffic engineering analysis, design, and transportation planning studies. The Senior Civil Transportation Engineer will support our Transportation projects for our West Virginia clients and have the opportunity to work on other regional and national projects.

Position is available for immediate hire.

Job Summary/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing engineering, planning, and related efforts for all areas of roadway and bridge design projects.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, planners, and modelers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation analyses or design issues.
  • Assisting in the engineering and planning effort for roadway and highway design, maintenance of traffic, and safety projects including following the agency's plan development process.
  • Interacting and coordinating regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments.
  • Understanding trends, best practices, and innovation in the transportation industry and exploring opportunities of implementing them on projects.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Review of Construction shop drawings, requests for information, and related construction submittals.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other equivalent degree and 6 years of closely related work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with West Virginia Division of Highways ( WVDOH ) projects
  • PE License in West Virginia or reciprocal is required or the ability to obtain one within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on roadway, drainage, traffic, site-civil projects.
  • MS Office software application skills, such as spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software
