Under general supervision, the Mobile Field Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out skilled journeyman level work. Work involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems and projects within the trade, and troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs of construction equipment.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Maintain and service a fleet of trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain and service a fleet of construction equipment.
  • Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
  • Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
  • Perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
  • Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.
  • Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
  • Timely and accurately diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.
  • Perform hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Make repairs per the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Utilize computer and electronic systems to interpret failure modes.
  • Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Interact directly with operations team(s) and liaison with suppliers.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Truck and Coach Service License (310T) required.
  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (421A) an asset.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge.
  • Heavy lifting required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication).
  • Valid DZ license in good standing an asset but not required.
  • High school diploma is an asset.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay Range: $40-$47/hr

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
