Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Avionics Test Leader(f/m) to join our Flight & Integration Test Centredepartment based in Toulouse, France.
You will be part of a team developing the verification and validation of embedded avionics systems. As part of our team, you will be involved in testing avionics shared resources (IMA) and on-board data communication networks (ADCN/AFDX) across Airbus programs aiming at ensuring best-in-class product maturity and shaping the testing strategy for next-generation aircraft architectures
.
You will also contribute to prepare the Avionics backbone of next generation Aircraftby shaping the testing strategy of more innovative on-board data processing and data distribution architectures.
Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) is a state-of-the art distributed architecture for Avionics systems; it consists in using identical generic modules to host different software applications (instead of having specific, dedicated hardware for each avionics application). This principle allows to drastically simplify spare parts management in Airlines operations, but also to optimize on-board computation and data processing capacities. This is why we refer to it as "Avionics Shared Resources".
The AFDX (Avionics Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet) network is an onboard Ethernet-based data transportation infrastructure ensuring data exchanges between the various systems of the airplane (including IMA modules and replaceable units). Each system of the airplane is connected to one node of the network (called "switch") and the routing of messages and data between systems is configured through a loadable "configuration file", making this solution very scalable and evolutive.
Both IMA and AFDX are technologies first embedded on a specific program and further deployed and optimized on subsequent Programs. Test activities related to IMA address a wide scope ranging from physical layer of the network to integration of the end to end maintenance.
AFDX Network and IMA platforms offer multiple opportunities to collect data about numerous critical avionics systems behavior. These data are generally stored in log files. Analysis of log files correlated to operational parameters will lead to significant improvements regarding detection of anomalies.
Your working environment:
Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Ideally located between the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor activities!
How we care for you:
Financial rewards:Attractive salary, agreements on success and profit sharing schemes, employee savings plan abounded by Airbus and employee stock purchase plan on a voluntary basis.
Work / Life Balance:Extra days-off for special occasions, holiday transfer option, a Staff council offering many social, cultural and sport activities and other services.
Wellbeing / Health:Complementary health insurance coverage (disability, invalidity, death). Depending on the site: health services center, concierge services, gym, carpooling application.
Individual development:Great upskilling opportunities and development prospects with unlimited access to +10.000 e-learning courses to develop your employability, certifications, expert career path, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.
At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and flexibly. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.
Your challenges:
Define and deploy the IMA/AFDX testing strategy, design partly automated test procedures, and specify required test means evolutions.
Execute test campaigns in integration laboratories, analyze ground/flight test results, and manage subcontracted test activities.
Perform supplier test monitoring for new developments and provide continuous test progress and anomaly status to Design Offices.
Correlate log file monitoring data with operational parameters to optimize anomaly detection and flight test data analysis.
Define innovative testing methods (virtual testing, multi-purpose test platforms) for next-generation avionics architectures.
Your boarding pass:
We are looking for a proactive and eager-to-learn engineer, ideally with the following profile:
Engineering degree or equivalent in embedded avionics systems and/or IT/network
A first experience in aeronautics, Avionics systems testing and/or on-board data communication networks would be a key differentiator
Open-minded, curious, problem-solving oriented, with a real taste for technical disciplines
Strong team working, good communication and synthesis skills
Avionics systems knowledge gained through a previous valuable experience would be strongly appreciated
An advanced level of English and French is required
