Advanced composite materials are fundamental to next-generation aerospace structures. Optimizing their performance and manufacturing scalability requires a precise, fundamental understanding of polymer chemistry, cure dynamics, and thermal properties. Differentially accelerated resin systems offer major efficiency gains, but their successful deployment depends on unravelling complex cure behavior, interphase kinetics, and thermal transition profiles. Your thesis will focus on advancing composite manufacturing by investigating curing kinetics, analyzing interphase diffusion in accelerated resin matrices, and leveraging advanced physical-chemical analytics.

Your exciting tasks

• Curing Kinetics Investigation: Conduct in-depth studies on commonly cured differential accelerated resin systems, evaluating the effects of differential accelerators
• Interphase & Mechanism Mapping: Research interphase diffusion, cross-linking dynamics and curing mechanisms within advanced composite matrices
• Physical-Chemical Analytics: Apply advanced characterization techniques (such as DSC, DMA, and Rheology) to analyze polymer network formation
• Process Optimization: Translate chemical analytics into actionable insights to improve composite manufacturing quality and stability for differential accelerated resin composites

Requirements Education

Software skills and scientific/technical skills

Languages

• Bachelor degree in a field like Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
• Office applications (Google Workspace)
• Experience of working with polymers / composites (basics)
• Coupon manufacturing, physico-chemical testing, and data analysis (basics
• English (full professional command)
