Shape Your World

At Alcoa, you will become an essential part of our purpose: to turn raw potential into real progress. The way we see it, every Alcoan is a work-shaper, team-shaper, idea-shaper & world-shaper.

This is an opportunity for you to bring your wealth of experience to the team and help shape the future of sustainability with world-changing innovations and low carbon technologies. You have the power to shape things to make them better.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Residue Project Scheduler to join our WA Operations team for a 2-year fixed term. Reporting to the NPI Operations Manager, you will develop, integrate and maintain schedules, resource plans and readiness frameworks that support works approvals, buttress remediation, residue wall lifts and civil infrastructure projects across multiple sites.

Working across operations, engineering, environmental, approvals, construction and project delivery teams, you will provide clear visibility of milestones, dependencies, critical paths and resource requirements. Your planning discipline will help projects progress safely and efficiently from concept and regulatory approval through to execution, while maintaining environmental compliance and corporate governance standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules for works approvals, wall lifts, buttress remediation and civil projects.

  • Establish schedule logic, critical paths, milestones, baselines and resource forecasts, and provide clear performance reporting.

  • Coordinate approval pathways, readiness schedules and deliverables to support DWER and LGIRS regulatory timeframes.

  • Integrate engineering designs, construction sequences, material movements, contractor activities and operational priorities.

  • Identify schedule and resource constraints early, test delivery scenarios and develop practical recovery or mitigation plans.

  • Produce dashboards, progress reports, risk registers and resource forecasts for leadership and governance forums.

What’s on offer

  • Attractive remuneration and variable bonus plan.

  • Flexible hybrid working options available.

  • My Alcoa Benefits program offering travel, lifestyle, health and wellbeing discounts.

  • Generous leave entitlements including a leisure a day off every 4-week period.

  • Salary packaging for a novated car lease, employee share plan and superannuation options.

  • Connect and be part of a community that celebrates diversity through our employee inclusion groups.

What you can bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

  • Demonstrated project planning, scheduling or project controls experience within mining, resources, civil construction, infrastructure or a similarly complex environment.

  • Advanced capability in Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software, supported by strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.

  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated schedules, including logic, critical-path analysis, milestones, dependencies, resource loading and progress measurement.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly.

  • Knowledge of regulated approvals, residue management, earthworks, tailings or civil infrastructure delivery will be highly regarded.

Additional information

  • Interviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.

  • You will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.
