The Senior Manager, Strategic products and projects will lead strategic business development initiatives, oversee new product launches and drive strategic business projects. This role focuses on expanding market presence, refining Alcon’s segment and product positioning and ensuring the successful launch and adoption of new products in the APAC region. This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Operations and Strategic Projects.

Strategic Business Projects:

  • Lead and manage strategic projects as defined annually, focusing on key product areas that require enhanced execution in collaboration with country teams. Initially these key product areas will include Alcon PCIOLs and Unity portfolio but may change with the evolving needs of the business.
  • Initial project focus would be portfolio/segment optimization and rationalization plan and country execution in light of new launches
  • Oversee and drive various strategic business projects and initiatives, ensuring flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure alignment with business goals

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project execution.

New Product Launch Excellence:

  • Regional SPOC for new product launch plan and timelines.
    • Consultant to other regional teams such as supply chain, pricing, regional HCP engagement, congresses/events etc
    • SPOC for international marketing group in case of escalations/resource allocation decisions
    • Drive portfolio positioning and rationalization working with country teams and regional cross-functional partners
  • Align on market specific new product launch tactic and drive commercial execution/implementation working across international/regional and country teams

Collaboration with Country Marketing Teams and IMG:

  • Work closely with country marketing teams and the International Marketing Group (IMG) to ensure cohesive and aligned execution.
  • Support and adapt global marketing initiatives to local markets, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Align sales and marketing efforts to enhance efficiency and market influence.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of sales growth targets for assigned products, including new product launches.
  • Successful development and execution of marketing strategies for new product launches.
  • Timely and successful completion of assigned projects.
  • 100% compliance with regulatory and ethical standards across all activities.

Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree; Desirable: MBA

Languages: Fluency in English, other languages are a plus

Experience:

  • Proven track record of marketing or strategic commercial leadership experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in the medical device, medical technology or ophthalmology sector required. Experience with PCIOLs and/or Cataract/Vitroretinal equipment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in multiple geographies with understanding of cultural and business diversity
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and compliance landscape affecting the medical device and equipment industries in the APAC region.
