About the job

As our new Technical Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall technical execution of customer and development projects. The role also involves coordinating work across multiple engineering disciplines and driving projects toward successful completion.

Some of your main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate engineering activities across mechanical, electrical, process, automation, and manufacturing functions.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
  • Identify, assess and manage technical risks, and drive issue resolution.
  • Support cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.
  • Facilitate design reviews and technical decision-making forums.
  • Provide technical expertise with Sales, Sourcing, Service, and Manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization efforts.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.

About you

You are a proactive, curious, and customer-oriented engineer with a collaborative, analytical, and structured approach. You communicate clearly, influence effectively, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. You make sound technical decisions based on data and engineering principles, identify risks early, and balance customer needs with quality, cost, safety, and schedule. You take ownership of complex challenges, create alignment across functions, and drive issues to resolution, even without formal authority. You are focused on results, take initiative, follow through on commitments, and continuously look for ways to improve performance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering.
  • Knowledge of or experience with industrial equipment, process engineering, manufacturing, or capital projects.
  • The ability to assess and manage technical risks, trade-offs and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with engineering documentation and configuration management.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Practical experience sailing on board a vessel.
