Forward Deployed Engineer

Our client, a rapidly growing fintech company, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team in San Francisco or New York City. The successful candidate will lead the technical implementation of the company's AI platform, working closely with customers' compliance teams to understand their investigation processes, integrate the platform with existing systems and data and configure AI agents to follow internal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer implementations from initial API integration through production deployment.

• Configure and build AI agents to conduct financial crime investigations in line with each customer's procedures.

• Connect the platform with customer APIs, data pipelines and internal systems.

• Validate the platform against historical cases and compare its decisions with previous analyst outcomes.

• Partner with compliance teams to refine agents until their outputs are accurate, explainable and ready for production.

• Troubleshoot technical issues involving customer data, third-party APIs, integrations and application environments.

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during implementation and following launch.

• Turn complex or unclear customer requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Identify recurring customer challenges and share actionable insights with product and engineering teams.

• Develop reusable tools, templates and implementation frameworks to accelerate and standardize future deployments.

Skillset

• At least two years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Rust, Java or C++.

• Previous experience in customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering or technical consulting.

• Familiarity with AI and LLM agents, including their configuration, development and prompting.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving third-party APIs, external data and customer environments.

• Strong knowledge of APIs, systems integrations, data pipelines and end-to-end application workflows.

• Ability to apply first-principles thinking when approaching unfamiliar systems and technical challenges.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience within a startup or rapidly growing enterprise software company would be an advantage.
