Our client, a growing HealthTech company, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team in New York. The successful candidate will develop the services and applications that power patient communications and clinic operations, ensuring they remain reliable and compliant in a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain backend services and web applications.
Build real-time tools for communicating with patients by voice and SMS.
Create resilient workflows for long-running tasks and background processing.
Collaborate with frontend, product and infrastructure teams to deliver dependable systems that meet healthcare compliance requirements.
Skillset
Proven experience developing reliable backend applications in healthcare, finance or another regulated sector.
Strong backend development skills in TypeScript or Python.
Experience working with Node.js APIs and technologies such as Express, Mongoose and Twilio.
Familiarity with Temporal or another platform for managing distributed workflows.
A solid understanding of distributed systems, including retries, idempotency and handling failures.
Experience with EHR integrations, HL7 or FHIR, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability or monorepos is an advantage.
Benefits
Salary: $160k - $200k DOE.
