The Impact You'll Have:

As a Human Resources Generalist at Alliant, you will play an important role in supporting our employee-owners throughout the full employee lifecycle. From onboarding and benefits administration to employee engagement, and compliance, you will help create a positive, organized, and people-focused HR experience across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the new hire orientation process to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including benefits, leave of absence, disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, performance management, employee recognition, employee engagement, and training initiatives.
  • Complete all onboarding tasks for new employees including background screenings, drug tests, and motor vehicle records (MVR) reviews, when required.
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.
  • Assist with HRIS maintenance, reporting, and data management.
  • Plan and coordinate employee recognition, wellness, and engagement programs.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employee-owners, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Conduct internal audits, including I-9 and personnel file audits, to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Maintain employee and applicant records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Review and update HR policies, procedures, and practices to support ongoing compliance.
  • Manage employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews, separation paperwork, benefits administration, and related compliance requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or the equivalent years of experience.
  • 4-6 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with exposure to multiple HR disciplines, including benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience administering the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, leave management, and offboarding processes.
  • Experience coordinating employee engagement, wellness, recognition, or culture-building initiatives.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g. BambooHR) and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to delivering a positive employee experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with being the face of HR, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization.
  • Evaluates existing and proposed methods/processes and makes recommendations as required to maximize effectiveness.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR a plus.
  • Experience supporting employee-owned organizations, professional services firms, or the AEC industry preferred.

The base pay for this position is expected to be in the range of $73,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
