We are a major contractor in the global offshore energy industry, leading the way in subsea pipeline construction and transport, installation and removal of offshore facilities.

Contribute to the safe and reliable installation of offshore pipelines by defining acceptable weld flaw sizes and advancing weld integrity assessment methods. Allseas is a world-leading contractor in the offshore energy market. Our specialised vessels and advanced systems enable us to perform complex projects in some of the world’s most challenging offshore environments. For our Pipeline Production Department in Delft, we are looking for an Engineering Criticality Assessment Engineer, or ECA Engineer. The position is open to both early-career engineers and experienced specialists.

Your role

As ECA Engineer, you assess the structural integrity of pipeline girth welds for offshore installation projects. Using specialist ECA software and 3D modelling techniques, you calculate weld flaw acceptance criteria in line with international standards. You work with internal engineering teams and external parties to gather pipeline design, installation and material data. Based on this information, you define testing programmes for girth welds and pipeline materials. You also contribute to the development of welding techniques and improved weld integrity assessment methods through in-house studies and cooperation with external organisations.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform Engineering Criticality Assessments for offshore pipeline installation projects;
  • Calculate girth weld flaw acceptance criteria;
  • Apply fracture mechanics principles and relevant international standards;
  • Evaluate pipeline installation, post-lay design and material data;
  • Define testing programmes for girth welds and linepipe materials;
  • Translate assessment results into clear technical reports and recommendations;
  • Coordinate technical requirements with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Contribute to welding development and weld integrity research.

What we expect from you

  • Bsc or Msc in a relevant technical field
  • Knowledge of welding metallurgy and fracture mechanics;
  • Strong analytical skills and a practical approach;
  • An accurate and structured way of working;
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • The ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience in Engineering Criticality Assessments, pipeline engineering, welding engineering, material testing or integrity assessment is an advantage. Motivated graduates with a relevant technical background are also encouraged to apply.

What we offer

Working at Allseas means joining an entrepreneurial organisation where technical innovation, collaboration and a down-to-earth culture are central.

You can expect:

  • A competitive, industry-benchmarked salary and pension;
  • Performance-based salary increases and bonuses;
  • 30 holiday days and flexible working hours;
  • Training, development opportunities, study budgets and coaching;
  • A company-sponsored fitness scheme;
  • Internal clubs, social activities and sporting events.

Depending on your nationality, we may need to conduct background checks including references, qualifications, and work permits.

If you enjoy solving problems, taking responsibility and working on projects where no two days are the same, you will find plenty of opportunities here.
