Technical Scrum Master - Agile Methodologies

Role : Technical Scrum Master

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Scrum Master to facilitate Agile delivery, remove impediments, and enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, technical project delivery, sprint management, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on continuous improvement and predictable outcomes.

The role requires someone who can work closely with engineering teams and Product Owners, improve delivery workflows, manage dependencies, and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities :

- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring meetings are purposeful and outcome-oriented.

- Support engineering teams in following Agile principles and practices across Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks, where applicable.

- Identify, track, and remove impediments that affect sprint progress, team productivity, and delivery timelines.

- Protect the team from unnecessary external disruptions and help maintain focus on sprint commitments.

- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine and prioritize backlogs, ensuring user stories have clear requirements and acceptance criteria.

- Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, burndown and burnup charts, and other Agile metrics to identify risks and improve delivery predictability.

- Track dependencies, risks, and blockers across teams and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

- Use tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage sprint activities, maintain documentation, and provide transparent delivery updates.

- Encourage effective communication and collaboration between developers, Product Owners, QA teams, and business stakeholders.

- Analyze retrospective feedback and delivery metrics to identify process gaps and implement continuous improvements.

- Promote self-organization, accountability, team ownership, and sustainable working practices to prevent burnout.

- Support teams in improving estimation, sprint planning, backlog management, and overall delivery efficiency.

- Communicate sprint status, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress to relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Proven experience as a Scrum Master, Technical Scrum Master, or in a similar Agile delivery role.

- Strong understanding of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and Kanban methodologies.

- Familiarity with SAFe and experience working in scaled Agile environments, where applicable.

- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for sprint tracking, backlog management, and documentation.

- Understanding of Agile metrics, including team velocity, burndown charts, burnup charts, and sprint performance.

- Experience identifying and resolving impediments, managing dependencies, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.

- Ability to work closely with engineering teams and understand software development workflows.

- Strong facilitation, communication, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.

- A continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to use data and team feedback to improve delivery processes.

- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Miro, and Loom.

- Experience supporting distributed or hybrid engineering teams.

- Relevant Agile or Scrum certification, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe certification.
